□
Working in Yamagata, Kaoru Saito creates a wide range of pieces using materials gathered from the mountains—
wild grape vine, walnut, akebi, and matatabi.
Her work takes on unique forms rarely seen elsewhere,
and features bark craftsmanship that draws the eye and invites quiet admiration.
She enters the mountains herself, handling every step of the process from gathering the materials to creating each piece.
For this special exhibition, in addition to the standard accessories and small items we have long introduced at our shop,
we will also present a wide selection of works created exclusively for this occasion.
Please note that grape vine basket bags will be limited to one piece each for display and sale in the store.
Purchased basket bags will remain on display during the exhibition period and will be handed over after it concludes.
We kindly ask for your understanding.
In addition, a collection of Kaoru Saito’s works (not for sale)
will also be on view.
During the exhibition period, the works will be available for viewing and purchase at our Minami-Senju store,
as well as through our official online shop, where both regular items and exhibition-exclusive pieces will be offered.
We hope you will take this opportunity to experience the unique and refined presence of Kaoru Saito’s work.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Please take a look at this short video announcing the upcoming special exhibition.

In the next journal, which will be published soon, we will introduce the maker, Kaoru Saito.
We hope you will look forward to it.

*Each piece is a valuable work, shaped through the maker’s many years of experience and careful experimentation.
We kindly ask that visits for the purpose of study or production reference be refrained from.
In some cases, we may approach you depending on the situation.
When viewing the works, we would appreciate your consideration for other visitors,
as well as your cooperation in maintaining a respectful atmosphere.
Photography inside the store is limited to one overall interior photo.
Taking individual photos of products is generally not permitted.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding.
