Moso Bamboo has long been cultivated in Japan for its edible bamboo shoots. Because it grows thick with dense walls, it has also been valued as a material for making everyday tools.

Rather than being split into thin weaving strips, Moso Bamboo is often cut, carved, and shaped while retaining much of its thickness. This makes it well suited to chopsticks, spoons, forks, rice paddles, serving utensils, and other kitchen tools.

Here, we introduce kitchen utensils and other everyday items made from Moso Bamboo by artisans across Japan.
