Care Guide

These pieces are made from all-natural materials, and with proper care, they can be enjoyed for many years. Their color and texture will gently deepen and change over time.
1. After Use
After using a bamboo sieve or basket with water, rinse it with a scrub brush and fresh water soon after use. Shake off as much water as possible, then place it in a well-ventilated spot to dry. If good airflow is limited, hanging it near a fan is also effective. Please avoid leaving it in direct sunlight for long periods, as bamboo may become brittle or crack.
Unless the item has been used with oily foods, there is usually no need to use detergent. A gentle wash with a scrub brush and cold or warm water is enough. Please do not place it in a dishwasher. If the item has come into contact with oil, you may use a mild neutral detergent. In that case, be sure to rinse it thoroughly.
If the item is not intended for use around water, please keep it away from moisture. If it does become wet, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
The rims of bamboo sieves and baskets bear most of the weight when lifted, and are therefore more delicate. Please handle them with both hands. When washing, take care not to strike the rim against hard surfaces, as this may cause damage.

2. Steps to Prevent Mold
Avoid placing the item in damp or humid areas. Store it in a dry location with good airflow. Because areas close to the floor tend to retain moisture, placing the item on a higher shelf is generally recommended.
When not in use, handheld items are better kept in open, well-ventilated spaces rather than inside a cabinet. The most effective way to prevent mold is simply to use the item regularly.

3. Steps to Prevent Insect Damage
Bamboo naturally contains small amounts of sugar, and other natural materials may also retain elements that insects are attracted to. Because insects or their eggs can sometimes be present within the raw materials, and because unused items may occasionally draw insects from the surroundings, complete prevention is difficult. We take great care in selecting and handling our materials, but very rarely insects may create tiny holes or leave a light, powdery residue. As we value the natural texture of our materials, we do not use insecticides.
If you notice white powder or small holes, we recommend treating the affected area with hot water over 60°C (140°F). As a preventative measure, gently brushing the piece with a scrub brush from time to time is also helpful.
4. Everyday Use
It may feel difficult at first, but the best care for these pieces is simply to use them in your daily life. Craftspeople—both in the past and today—create these items with the intention that they be handled and enjoyed. While some handmade objects are meant primarily for decorative use, most of the bamboo pieces we carry are made to serve a practical purpose. We hope you will use them often and let them become part of your everyday routines.

Notes on Handcrafted Items Made from Natural Materials
Please note that small natural fibers or slight protrusions may be present on handcrafted items. These may occasionally catch on clothing, so please handle them with care.
Because each piece is handmade from natural materials, variations in texture, color, and shape will occur. In addition, due to the characteristics of the materials and the aging of the craftspeople, some slight distortion may be visible. These are natural features and do not affect the use of the item.
If a piece becomes wet, gently wipe off any excess water and allow it to dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight to help prevent mold.
Except in the case of defective products, we are unable to accept returns for reasons such as order mistakes, differences from expectations, natural variations in texture, or slight protrusions or distortions. If the item you receive is defective, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.
