This dessert plate is made from a tree called Japanese cherry birch, which is found in Japan.
This dish is about 15cm (5.91″) in diameter and fits in the palm of your hand.
We named it “deep rim” because of its gently indented surface with a rim.
Japanese cherry birch is a solid, hard material of the birch group.
The wood’s unique knots and grain are not noticeable, and it has a smooth texture.
This plate is coated with a “polyurethane coating” as the final process,
which conforms to the Food Sanitation Law in Japan.
The paint will come off little by little as you use it.
However, if handled with care, it can be enjoyed for a long time.
Dishwashers can also cause premature wear and tear.
We recommend using a soft sponge and mild detergent when washing.
There may be some dents and scratches.
Please understand that this is a characteristic of the wood and is not a defective product.
You can place cut cakes or baked goods on top, or even Japanese sweets decorated with leaves or paper.
Also, it can be used for your favorite snacks, rice balls, or sandwiches.
It will also be useful as a plate on which to put a dish such as a salad.
