This is a basket with a lid woven from strips of Madake bamboo and Chinese moonseed vines.
This basket was originally requested by gardeners.
This basket is woven with strips of thinly peeled strips of the hard enamel outer skin of the bamboo.
This process allows the color to change over time to a deeper amber color and shines with a glossy appearance.
