This page introduces Apple baskets made of pine.
There are two sizes, S and L.
Estonian pine is used, and pine wood 100 to 120 years old is said to be suitable for processing baskets.
It is named Apple basket for a reason.
In Estonia, apple trees grow all over the city in some places.
In the harvest season, there are more apples than can be eaten,
so a basket of apples like this one is placed at the entrance of every house in the area, and anyone can take them free of charge.
In the home, it can be used to hold a large amount of apples or as a stock basket for root vegetables.
It can also be placed next to the sofa and used as a side basket for blankets, magazines, books to be read, etc.
The L size may be used as a changing basket for 1-2 people.
Please note that this is not designed to hold wet clothes.
Late summer and early fall is the apple season in Estonia.
A wide variety of processed products such as jams, syrups, juices, and cakes are also being made.
It is fun to think of such a view of Estonia from this basket.
Please check the size carefully and choose the size you prefer.
–Pine basket making in Avinurme village, Estonia–
In the village of Abinurme, baskets have been made using “pine” for more than 200 years.
And there is a family-run workshop that has been making baskets out of Estonian pine wood for a long time.
The workshop has as many as 20 makers,
and in order to maintain the quality of the finished baskets and to provide feedback to the makers,
initials are placed on the bottom of baskets that belong to makers other than family members.
Their baskets, which are designed based on “Human Life” and customer requests,
are widely favored in Estonia and elsewhere for their simple design and practicality.
We are sure that you will find your favorite shape and size from the wide range of their product lineup.
