These handbags are made of “Igusa” rush rope.
This is a shallow type with a wider gusset than the basic type.
Igusa is also the material used to make “Tatami mats” for Japanese-style room floors.
Edge materials are used as rope to make baskets.
Wooden looms that have been carefully used for generations are used.
