This khadi cotton was produced in Kolkata, a city in the state of West Bengal, India.

It is made from ultra-fine hand-spun yarn known as “100 count,”
and then carefully handwoven into a fabric that is exceptionally light and sheer.

This khadi cotton textile is hand-printed with silk screen designs inspired by botanical motifs.

The printing is done by hand at a workshop in Yamagata Prefecture,
using a time-intensive combination of two traditional dyeing techniques:
nassen (direct printing) and bassen (discharge printing).

Because of the discharge process, the degree of color lifting varies from piece to piece,
giving each textile a rich, one-of-a-kind expression.

Khadi cotton is known for its excellent breathability and quick-drying properties.
It feels light and dry against the skin, and its soft, airy texture adds to its comfort and versatility.

We offer two types of textiles: a square “Bandana” style and a longer “Stole” style,
each available in two botanical patterns—for a total of four variations.
