This piece is part of our zodiac series, created in connection with the Year of the Horse, 2026.
It is a Shimekazari named “All Goes Well,” crafted in the form of a horse.

Named “All Goes Well,” this piece carries the wish that everything will proceed smoothly.
It evokes the image of nine horses galloping across an open plain.
This expression has long been regarded as auspicious, appearing in paintings on vessels and folding fans,
and even chosen as a theme for calligraphy.
Through this wordplay, it holds the hope that good ties and fortunate events will continue for a long time.

※Please note that although the photo shows three “All Goes Well” Shimekazari,
this item is sold individually.
Since ancient times, horses have lived closely alongside people—plowing fields, carrying loads,
and accompanying travelers on their journeys.
They embody vitality, forward strength, and loyal spirit. For these reasons,
the horse has long been seen as an auspicious animal, bringing good fortune in victory,
career advancement, and even in forming favorable relationships. Horses remain beloved around the world today.
This palm-sized Shimekazari may be small,
yet within its charming form you can still feel the energy and straightforward character of the horse.

A Shimekazari is a traditional New Year’s ornament made of rice straw, displayed indoors or outdoors to welcome the Toshigami deity at the start of the year.

The Shimekazari introduced here is made locally in southern Nagano, using rice straw harvested in the area.

The makers are involved in every step, from cultivating and harvesting the rice straw to crafting each Shimekazari by hand.

The rice straw is harvested early, before the grains ripen, during the hot summer months of July and August.

This Shimekazari is made with the same high-quality rice straw used for constructing sumo wrestling rings.
The fresh green straw is carefully twisted and braided by hand.

It can be displayed anywhere you like—at the entrance, in the kitchen, bathroom, living room, or dining area.
Its compact size makes it easy to place without worrying about space.

※Please note that although the photo shows three “All Goes Well” Shimekazari,
this item is sold individually.
You may also display several together.
Lined up side by side, they seem to run in unison, almost as if you could hear the sound of their hooves.

Seen this way, they look as if they were calling out to one another,
encouraging their companions as they run together.
Their closeness brings a gentle, heartwarming feeling.
Even after the New Year season, we recommend keeping them on display to enjoy throughout the year.

To keep your Shimekazari in good condition,
please open the package promptly upon arrival and do not leave it stored inside the cardboard box.
If you are not going to display it right away, store it indoors in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
After use, it may be taken to a Shinto shrine for disposal, or treated as burnable household waste.
If disposing as waste, please be sure to follow your local municipality’s guidelines.

This Shimekazari is shaped into the figure of a horse by bundling straw,
with a tail of rice ears added.
Though small, it conveys a sense of inner strength and a lively spirit,
as if galloping forward into the future.
Its simple yet dignified form gives it the presence of a charm that encourages and supports you when kept nearby.
May it bring the hope that in the coming year, all goes well—continuing on without interruption for a long time to come.
